This department has resorts such as Punta del Este and Piriápolis, two beautiful places famous in South America and very popular in the rest of the world as well. While being in this area of Uruguay, tourists could find a variety of beaches of different sizes and popularity, as well as, if they explore the coastline, they can also find several small and almost unvisited beaches that can be ideal for swimming peacefully or for a relaxing sunbath.
